The new 4D MAG S and Squad S goggles from Smith
Whether you believe it or not, the winter season is fast approaching and it’s almost time to start dusting off that pair of skis or snowboard. With each new winter season comes new gear from your favorite brands and Smith has revealed two new models in their 2023 lineup, the 4D MAG S and Squad S goggles. Let’s dive into what makes these two new goggles special and their features.
Squad S
When Smith released the Squad, it quickly became a top selling goggle and skier's favorite. With its wide cylindrical lenses offering an expansive field of view and modern semi-rimless design, it’s easy to see why. On top of that, the Squad is an affordable goggle with some of the best lenses available.
Smith has now introduced the Squad S, the same great features and fit of the original Squad but in a smaller frame size. The Squad S is a great fitting goggle for junior riders or adults with smaller faces looking for a minimal frame design. The included Chromapop lenses are the best part. Chromapop technology offers exceptional detail and enhanced contrast giving you the vision to see every little bump and shape on the slopes. With the Squad S you get two Chromapop lenses included, one for bright sunny days and a low-light lens for when the clouds roll in.
The frame of the Squad S features what Smith calls Responsive Fit. This allows the frame to flex and adjust to the face of the skier or rider allowing a goggle fit that gets better over time. The strap is an ultra-wide, silicone backed strap so the goggles stay secure on your helmet and stay put. Lenses stay clear and fog-free with Smith’s Fog-X anti-fog inner lens.

4D MAG S
Next up in Smith’s new releases is the 4D MAG S goggle. The 4D MAG is Smith’s most advanced goggle with a new lens design that offers the widest field of view in their entire lineup. Smith’s team of engineers created the Birdseye Vision feature which increases the field of view by 25% over the I/O MAG goggle. The spherical lenses feature a sharp curve at the bottom giving the rider unprecedented peripheral vision.
Originally designed as a medium to large fit goggle, Smith has introduced the same technologically advanced design in a smaller fit, the 4D MAG S.
The 4D MAG S again features the same great Chromapop lenses in magnetic technology making lens swaps an absolute breeze when you’re on the hill. A bonus low-light Chromapop is also included so you’re covered no matter the conditions.
